Picture Posting Rules

  1. CONTENT LIMITS on the Texas Talent Board are up to ONLY less than pornographic pictures. This limit will be determined by the Webmaster and Admins.

  2. MODELS posting a photograph MUST credit the copyright holder. It would also be nice, but not required, to credit make-up artists, artistic designers and others who contributed to the photo. Also, if you are posting availability for work, be specific about your intentions and interests.

  3. PHOTOGRAPHERS posting a photograph MUST credit the model. It would be nice to also mention if the model is accepting photo assignments. It would also be nice, but not required, to credit make-up artists, artistic designers and others contributing to the photo. Models under 18 may be posed in lingerie, as long as they display an age-appropriate attitude. As with everything else described herein, the Webmaster and Admins shall make final decisions of what constitutes "age-appropriate" styles. Needless to say, any posting of ANY illegal photo will be removed and dealt with appropriately up to and including, referring the posting to the proper authorities.

  4. PHOTOGRAPHERS SEEKING MODELS MUST include a photo done by them, preferably in the style you are soliciting for. If you are attempting something new, or are a student/beginner, using an example picture with an explanation/disclaimer that you are NOT the picture taker, will be acceptable as long as you post some example of your photographic ability. Also, be specific in your requests for assignments, state your rates if applicable, and credentials. You must post with a valid point of contact, you may however include your company name in the post. In addition, post your location. YOU MUST also include a link to your website/URL or valid explanation of why you don't have one.

  5. ANYONE posting a photo not of their own making, MUST provide both photographer and model credits. Such postings will ONLY be allowed by make-up artists, artistic designers, agents, for use as an example with the copyright holders permission and in cases of missing persons. This is not addressing legal issues of copyright infringement as Board owners and administrators are not attorneys nor is this the venue to determine such cases. Posters should be aware of copyright regulations and post accordingly.

  6. When posting an image not of a model, such as an artistic portrait or abstract, credit is not required but description of the circumstances of the photo is appreciated.

How To Post Your Pictures

If you do not have a scanner for digitizing images, there are various inexpensive ways to get digital images for posting online.

Office supply stores such as Office Max or Office Depot will often have scanning services available, as will copy centers like Kinko's. Once scanned, the images can be loaded onto a diskette and from there uploaded to your web space.

Most camera stores and even one-hour photo labs now offer some sort of scanning service at the time images are processed, and many will scan images brought in by customers. Ask about this service at K Mart, Wal Mart, and chain drugstores such as Rite Aid, Eckerd's, and Walgreen's.

Many online services such as the MSN, Earthlink, Mindspring, and AOL offer their users storage space for web pages at no extra cost, as well as some Websites, such as the Texas Talent Board and OMP. And while you don't need a "website" or know anything about designing webpages in order to put an image online, a website is a good idea. Check the helpfiles offered by your online provider to find information on how to upload images.

These guidelines are posted on the assumption that you have one or more images online (stored) on a website. Unfortunately, images can not be posted from your home or office computer.

Once your pictures are online, there are several ways to put the proper HTML code into the "Optional Image URL" line of a post.

  1. Using your web browser, visit website where your images are stored.
  2. Select the picture you want to post and display it in your browser.
  3. Right click on the picture with your mouse, this will open an options box.
  4. Click "Properties" and another box will open, look for "Address" or "URL"..
  5. The picture Address URL will begin with "http://" and usually end with ".jpg"..
  6. Highlight the full Address URL with your mouse, hold the CTRL key and press C, this will copy the Address URL.
  7. Ok, now go to the Board and get ready to make your Posting.
  8. After putting in all the rest of your post, go to the "Optional Image URL" box.
  9. In the box, highlight the "http://" with your mouse, hold the CTRL key and press V, this will paste the Address URL in to the blank.
  10. Once you have this done, and the rest of the post is the way you want it, then click "Step 1 - Preview Message".
  11. When the preview comes up, if everything looks like you want it and you can see your picture, click "Step 2 - Post Message".
  12. If something needs changing or the image does not show, scroll down the page and make corrections in the form, then click "Step 1 - Preview Message".
  13. You can repeat this until you have your posting the way you want it. Remember, ONLY click "Step 2 - Post Message" ONCE!!! Otherwise you will make the same posting many times.
  14. If you have any problems, just email the Webmaster or Admins for help.
